Rather important photos (Vrij belangrijke foto’s)

To conclude the Hermans Year, in which we celebrate the centenary of the writer’s birth, Fotomuseum The Hague presents an exhibition with Hermans’ photography as central theme. Especially for this exhibition and accompanying publication, the Willem Frederik Hermans Institute opened up its archive to literature specialist Bram Oostveen of the Huygens Institute and graphic designer Piet Schreuders. Dozens of vintages and new prints show that his photos are not always of the highest technical level, but they are imbued with the world view of the writer. The exhibition Vrij belangrijke foto’s is on display from 20 August 2022 to 8 January 2023.
