Cliffhangers and suspense: ‘Anne Frank’s literary talent remained underexposed’

Years of research into Anne Frank’s manuscripts by scholars at the Huygens Institute has revealed her large literary talent to be under-exposed. ‘She had a talent for breathing life into characters hidden from the world, and a sharp eye for detail in herself and others.’

Hanneloes Pen, a news reporter for Het Parool, has written extensively about the Second World War. She interviewed Peter de Bruijn and Elli Peeters about their project, Anne Frank Manuscripts, and their book, Anne Frank, schrijfster.
