Historicidagen 2026: the Future of History

From Thursday 27 to Saturday 29 August 2026, Leiden will host Historicidagen 2026, a conference for historians and other professionals in education, research and heritage. This year’s theme is The Future of History: how can historical research and education respond to social changes, digitisation and new media?

The programme includes lectures, panels and workshops offering different perspectives on the role of history in society. The conference is an opportunity to share knowledge, discuss and gain new insights into the development of the historical discipline.

The History Days are organised by the KNHG and Leiden University.
