On Saturday, 8 November 2025, the Tilburg Regional Archives will host a symposium focusing on research in the archives of village administrations. In collaboration with the Huygens Institute for Dutch History and Culture, a workshop on the digital research environment Goetgevonden will be offered.

Searching digitally through old resolutions

The workshop ‘What can be found about Staats-Brabant in the decisions of the States General (1576-1796)? Learning to search the Goetgevonden website’, presented by Joris Oddens, head of the Political Culture and History research group at the Huygens Institute, teaches participants how to search the resolutions of the States General (1576–1796). Goetgevonden was developed within the REPUBLIC project (Resolutions Unlocked in a Computational Environment), carried out between 2019 and 2024 by the Huygens Institute in collaboration with partners such as the National Archives and the KNAW Humanities Cluster.

Practical information

The symposium will take place on Saturday 8 November 2025, from 11:00 to 17:00 (doors open at 10:30) at Kazernehof 75, Tilburg. Joris Oddens’ workshop will be held in the afternoon.
