Samuel Ruiter studied journalism at the Utrecht University of Applied Sciences, focusing on international and political investigative journalism. After completing his bachelor’s degree, he went to the University of Amsterdam to gain more in-depth knowledge and theoretical background. In the 2024-2025 academic year, he completed a pre-master’s degree in Political Theory. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in the same field.
At the Huygens Institute, he works as a student assistant at OpenJournals. He is responsible for the website, ensures visibility in the form of newsletters and social media, and also performs other support tasks. This work is a great bridge between journalistic practice and the world of research.
