Biography

Huib Zuidervaart studied physics, astronomy and history of science at VU University in Amsterdam. In 1999 he received a PhD from Utrecht University for a thesis on the history of astronomy in the Netherlands. Nederlandse Sterrenkunde in de Achttiende Eeuw. He has held a variety of positions in secondary and university education (at VU University Amsterdam and Leiden University) and has worked at several museums, including Museum Boerhaave. He is employed by Huygens ING since September 2007 and is the editor in chief of the Belgian-Dutch journal for the History of science, medicine and universities: Studium, tijdschrift voor Wetenschaps- en Universiteitsgeschiedenis.
