Maria Schouten

Biography:

Maria Schouten studied French Language and Literature at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. She has been working as a research assistant at the Institute since 1984. Since 1996, she has combined this position with that of coordinator of research assistance. From 2003 to 2008 she was an HR adviser and head of the secretariat. As a research assistant, she has been involved in many different projects over the years. For example, she transcribed sixteenth and seventeenth century texts for source editions, carried out biographical research for the indexes of persons for several editions, edited the texts of a number of the proceedings of several conferences and she was involved in the organisation of various (international) academic symposiums.
