Researchers at the Political and Institutional History research group are mainly concerned with governmental and other institutions that have played a significant role in the history of the Netherlands. We do so on the one hand by publishing source-oriented studies, such as editions of serial sources, and on the other hand by analysing the way in which such institutions operated. In this way, large series of sources are made available to the historical research community, but we simultaneously keep in touch with the current-day debate on the quality of institutions. Our studies are usually published in a digital format.
