The Huygens Institute for the History of the Netherlands (Huygens ING for short) is an institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. It was founded in January of 2011 out of a merger of the Institute for the History of the Netherlands and the Huygens Institute KNAW.
At Huygens ING, around 100 scholars and other staff work in the largest humanities institute of the Netherlands. These people support sixty-five research projects that study themes from political and institutional history, literature and letters, and the history of science.
